See Spot run. Run, Spot, run! See Sally and Dick watch Spot run. Silly Spot! But where is Jane??

Well, this little Jane was usually off running around playing and never sitting still like a "good little girl." Dear old old-school Mom, being a rather persistent sort, sat her still long enough to teach her to knit, and a orange, blue, green, and yellow doll blanket of four squares was eventually knit. With other things to master, the knitting needles laid idle while Little Jane grew up, played sports, went to school, got a degree, got a job, fell in and out of love, changed jobs, and celebrated 26 birthdays.

One day, Katie invited her to what some now call a "Stitch and Bitch", though there wasn't much bitching but rather talk of boys, travel and movies. And knitting, knitting, knitting! Seeing the colors and patterns of her sweater emerge hooked this Jane on the wonders of yarn and knitting. Fair-Isle, cables, lace, intarsia, hand-dyed wool, sparkly stranders, hats, scarves, socks, there was so much to learn and do. Thank you, thank you, thank you Katie!

see who jane is

There is no Jane - or is there? There's a Jane inside of all of us waiting to knit. This Jane, really Beth, grew up in Connecticut, got a Biotechnology degree in Massachusetts, and then tested software for many years in Boston. In 1997 she made the move to the Left Coast and had a little boy who will never (thank goodness!) understand the Curse of the Babe. Beth's UPA membership number is 2325, and although she hasn't had much time to use it lately, she always seems to renew it.

Beth would love to hear from you.
